You work very hard but do not get good grades. Today, Investomanthan will help you discover a clear cut, guaranteed, trusted and proven success formula. This formula will help you cut down hours of study and maximize your playtime without harming your exam grades.
A - SET A SMART GOAL
What is a smart goal ??
SMART has a hidden meaning:-
S- Specific
M- Measurable
A- Achievable
R- Realistic
T- Time Bounded
Now let us see how can we implement SMART in our goal.
Consider a situation when you have only 9 months to go for your exam. In this case, let us see how will you plan a smart goal.
1 - Calculate the preparation time
Firstly, separate time for revision and preparation.
You have nine months for your exam. Remove one month from your remaining time for revision of all the learnt topics. So now you have 8 months i.e 240 days for your exam preparation.
You don't want to study on Sundays so let us remove Sundays from 8 months. There are 34 Sundays in 8 months. Therefore 240 - 34 = 206 days.
Hence, preparation time = 206 days.
2 - Calculate the total number of pages
Add the number of pages of all the subjects.
Hence, total number of pages to be studied for exam = 950
3 - Calculate the PPD (Pages Per Day)
To calculate PPD, divide total number of pages by preparation time
Therefore divide 950/206 = 4.66 rounded off to 5.
Hence 5 pages per day.
Since you have 4 subjects you need to study (1.5) one and a half page of each subject every day except sunday in order to fulfill your goal.
B - MEASURE YOUR SMART GOAL DAILY
This step is very important as it indicates weather you are heading towards success (fulfilling your goal) or failure (failing to fulfill your goal).
Divide your final goal to monthly equal goals.
So as per PPD, you need to study 5 pages per day. Hence, you have to study 120 pages in 24 days (a month excluding Sundays). Divide 120 by 4, since your have four subjects.
So, by the night of 31st January of this month you need to finish 30 pages of each subject.
Make Excel sheet for your monthly goals
Divide your monthly goal to daily equal goals.
This will monitor your daily study habits. You can calculate it by dividing completed pages by monthly page target (30) and multiplied by 100 to get task completion in %.
Let's say you completed 10 pages of maths subject :-
(10/30) × 100 = 33.3%
Similarly, if you would have completed the following subjects by 5th of January
Science - 8
Social Science - 4
English - 13
So what would be the daily report for 5th of Jan look like? 🤔🤔🤔
Similar as above you will calculate :-
Science - (8/30) × 100 = 26.6%
Social Science - (4/30) × 100 = 13.3%
English - (13/30) × 100 = 43.3%
Hence your daily report of 5th January would look like :-
In case you are unable to fulfill 100% of your monthly goal, add up the remaining target to the next month's target.
C - REPORTING
In large corporations/companies all the Managers report to General Managers, General Manager report to the CEOs and the CEOs reports to the board of directors. If a team in the corporate world missed the monthly target, board members ask - Why they were unable to achieve the target? So, all the management persons (Managers, General Managers and the CEOs) are responsible and liable to answer.
Hey Investomanthan,
I am a student not a company! Who should I report to?
Your strict elder, ur father, ur mother, ur elder brother/sister if any may act as ur board of directors.
You should show them your daily task completion report with the proof (notes) attested/ joined.
This will be double guarantee ur success.
Hope you are clear with how to set a smart goal and work accordingly for guaranteed success.
This law is applicable to any and every field you might be in.
Difference between definite and indefinite Goal
Student 1: I will study a lot! (indefinite goal)
Student 2: I will study one page of each subject every day! (definite goal)
